After obtaining a License in Political Science and in Spanish Literature and Languages, Sahita Pierre-Antoine began her career in the field of women's rights, working with community associations in the Caribbean and Central America to advocate and provide better services for survivors of gender-based violence. Since returning to Haiti, Sahita has maintained her commitment to mainstreaming gender and a human rights-based approach in development initiatives. Her experience with different projects and NGOs as well as her Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation of Projects continues to motivate her always to work for results and lasting impacts. Despite the challenges, she continues to fight for the rights of girls, women, and marginalized populations. Since 2014, she is Secretary General of the Board of Directors of PROFAMIL, a Haitian association working in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
Sahita is currently responsible for the Communications and Gender aspects of the Konbit project. Funded by USAID and implemented by local firm Papyrus, Konbit aims to increase the number of local partners who are able to obtain and influence significant and sustainable development results in Haiti, who are accountable to their donors and their constituents , And are able to compete and manage resources effectively.
